Peer Review Policy

The International Review of Philanthropy and Social Investment (IRPSI) enforces a rigorous peer review process to ensure the highest standards of academic integrity, objectivity, and methodological quality for all published research.

  • Type of Peer Review: Double-blind peer review
  • The Process: To guarantee an unbiased evaluation, the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are strictly concealed throughout the entire assessment cycle.
    • Author Anonymity: Submitted manuscripts must be anonymized by removing all direct identifiers, institutional affiliations, and explicit self-citations from the main text and file properties.
    • Reviewer Anonymity: Manuscripts are evaluated by at least two independent, external experts in the relevant field whose identities remain entirely confidential.
  • Final Decision: Reviewers provide detailed feedback and recommendation categories (Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject). The Editorial Board makes the final decision based on these independent evaluations.

Digital Archiving & Long-Term Preservation Policy

To ensure the permanent accessibility and long-term preservation of all published scholarly content, the International Review of Philanthropy and Social Investment (IRPSI) is committed to secure digital archiving.

  • Preservation Service: All articles published in the journal are formally archived and preserved through Portico, a trusted, independent digital preservation service.
  • The Mechanism: In the event that the journal ceases publication, experiences a catastrophic system failure, or is no longer commercially available, Portico ensures that the complete digital archive of IRPSI remains securely preserved and accessible to the global scholarly community.
  • Self-Archiving: Authors are also permitted and encouraged to deposit the published version (Version of Record) of their articles in institutional repositories or personal websites immediately upon publication, further guaranteeing decentralized access.

Author Self-Archiving & Repository Policy

The International Review of Philanthropy and Social Investment (IRPSI) supports the green open access model, allowing and encouraging authors to deposit versions of their work in institutional, thematic, or central repositories of their choice to maximize the reach and impact of their research.

  • Permitted Versions: Authors are permitted to deposit the Version of Record (the final, edited, and formatted publisher's PDF) immediately upon publication. There is no embargo period.
  • Conditions of Deposit: When archiving any version of their work, authors must provide a full academic citation, including a direct link to the original URL or DOI of the article on the official journal system.
  • Authorized Platforms: Content from IRPSI is actively integrated and permitted for deposit across our primary ecosystem:
    • Joucon Journal System: The primary hosting system where the official Version of Record is maintained.
    • CAPSI Institutional Repository: The center's institutional home for academic and community access.
    • Sabinet: Syndicated and archived within Sabinet's regional and international research databases.
    • Porthologos Press Repository: Integrated into the publisher's digital repository infrastructure for long-term discovery.
